Struggle Bus

I posted on my facebook status that I was a passenger on the struggle bus and will be for the next two weeks. My mom comments asking me what’s the struggle bus? (lol)

In turn I think how would I appropriately explain it to her? “You just gotta go through it to know ma,” “It’s a law school thing,” OR “essentially my next few weeks will suck mother”

In the words of Will Smith… Parents just don’t understand.

If you haven’t heard the new Kendrick Lamar yet, you’re losing. In my opinion, it’s basically brilliant… not saying it is the best ever, because I cannot judge that. But it is a GREAT album. It is like listening to a short story/short film. Essentially, telling the story of what young black men in their twenties all experienced growing up in Compton. It is a non glorified, truthful telling of what a young Kendrick went through. An honest, gritty, real look into the struggles of a young man at this time. A story that is often overlooked, ignored, or downplayed. Again, to me, kind of brilliant.

I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owed me something. And that either the conservatives, or the socialist, or fascists, or communists, or the Christians, or the Jews were doing something to me… I don’t think that anymore because I found out it doesn’t fuckin work… Most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it, right? So for the few of us who did question what was going on, I found out personally, not for the whole world, that I am responsible for it as well as them. I am part of them. There’s no separation. We’re all one.
